RICHMOND – Attracting and encouraging the next generation of Richmond leaders was a key theme as Mayor Dave Snow delivered his second State of the City address Thursday night.
Snow spoke for about 30 minutes in front of a live audience in a broadcast from the studio of Whitewater Community Television.
Those in attendance included members of Richmond Common Council and several administration department heads, but it was the city's younger generations that he often spoke to directly.
"In this address tonight, I first want to look back at the past year and how we've worked hard to better serve this community. But more importantly, I want to challenge us all to look ahead into Richmond's immediate future and distant horizon," Snow said.

The mayor began and ended his speech talking about contributions already made by Richmond's youth and challenging others to help shape the city's future.
In between, Snow touched on issues including the opioid epidemic, the next step toward realizing an idea from his campaign for the mayor's office, rebranding the city and more.
