There will be traffic on the 65-mile stretch of I-69 from Vanderburgh County to Greene County before the highway is even open to motorists.

Antique tractors, classic cars, bicyclists, runners, campers and possibly some artists and dancers may take to the pavement as part of festivities previewing the highway’s debut.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is inviting towns and communities along the corridor to plan and carry out creative activities on the pavement before the highway officially opens to drivers eager to cut their travel time.
