MUNCIE -- Serious financial troubles for Roberts Hotel owner Peter Dvorak and the possibility that hundreds of Ivy Tech college students will next year attend classes a block away from the building could break the financial logjam that closed the hotel in 2006 and stalled a $10 million renovation project earlier this year.

Dvorak is himself hopeful, and hope is in short supply for the Bloomington businessman, who closed his company headquarters on Friday and laid off the last eight members of his staff.
