Actress Glenn Close has donated her costume collection to Indiana University's School of Art, Architecture + Design. The collection spans 47 projects and includes items from some of Close's films, such as "The Big Chill," "Fatal Attraction" and "101 Dalmatians."

Close, nominated for six Academy Awards, discussed her collection with students and faculty Friday at IU. She has made regular trips to Bloomington since IU sociology professor Bernice Pescosolido joined the science advisory board for Close's nonprofit, Bring Change to Mind, about four years ago.

Close founded the organization in 2010 after her sister, Jessie Close, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and her nephew, Calen Pick, with schizoaffective disorder. Bring Change to Mind aims to end stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness.

IU's U Bring Change to Mind has similar goals. Close visited Pescosolido's Medicine in America class Thursday to kick off the 2017 U Bring Change to Mind campaign competition, where students come up with ways to reduce the stigma around mental illness.
