The Indiana Finance Authority and Indiana Department of Transportation announced Monday it has received six responses to the state’s request-for-qualifications for the Ohio River Bridges Project. A comprehensive list of the respondents should be available sometime this week.

“The Finance Authority will undertake a thorough review of all responses over the next two weeks and anticipates announcing a short list of proposers on April 23,” said Kendra York, public finance director for the state of Indiana, in a press release. “Short-listed teams will be invited to respond to a final request for proposals that will be due to the Finance Authority in late October.”

Interested companies were required to submit their qualifications to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the east-end crossing.

Indiana is responsible for the $1.3 billion east-end portion of the project, which includes both the Indiana and Kentucky approaches and the bridge.

A preliminary review of responses indicates that responding teams possess both national and international expertise in the design, construction and financing of large public infrastructure projects, according to the Indiana Finance Authority.
