Powerboat maker idles 225 in Decatur

Citing poor sales, a Decatur powerboat maker has laid off 225 employees, 62 of them last week. They're expected to be out of work at least six months.

Porter Inc., maker of Thunderbird and Formula powerboats, notified the state of its plans last week, but the Indiana Department of Workforce Development didn't post the notice on its Web site until Monday afternoon.
