Meijer issues text alerts if gasoline prices going up

Meijer is offering shoppers a heads up when gas prices are going up.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based discount retailer is allowing local consumers to opt into a program that sends text messages to cell phones about two hours before gas prices increase. The time of the increase is included in the text messages but not the price.
