A year in the making, the Indiana State Police unveiled the public database and map of methamphetamine lab seizures in Indiana in since 2007 — more than 9,000 reported seizures.

In addition to the date and county of lab seizure, the databases lists the address (with coordinates), type of lab, and a Vehicle Identification Number if the lab was seized in a car after Dec. 31, 2012.

Many of the addresses will also feature an attached PDF copy of the Indiana State Police’s meth lab occurrence report and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Certificate of Illegal Drug Lab Cleanup.

Vanderburgh County has 489 properties listed in the state police’s database.

Indiana, with 1,797 reported meth lab seizures in 2013, had the most reported incidents in the country last year. And Vanderburgh County, with 115 labs in 2013, led the state last year in lab seizures, but accounted for only 6.3 percent of the state’s total.

More than 500 properties where meth labs were reported to have been found will not be listed in the database. Properties must fall within certain guidelines listed on the state police’s website to be included.
