IPFW will use federal stimulus money to absorb the governor's cuts to higher education, Chancellor Michael Wartell told the university's Faculty Senate on Monday.

It's not yet clear how much money will be cut from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, but Walt Branson, vice chancellor for financial affairs, expects it to be comparable to the amount the university will receive over two years from the federal government as part of President Obama's stimulus package. IPFW is slated to receive $2.7 million, Branson said.
