SOUTH BEND — After a long month of speculation, the harsh numbers are in for teachers in the South Bend Community School Corp.
A total of 49 teachers won't come back this fall because of budget cuts. That passed Thursday in a 4-3 vote by the school board, a close vote that questioned the use of seniority to determine which teachers stay.
