Have you been educated by the union bosses yet?

That's why the legislative process in Indiana has been halted. So us Hoosiers can learn of the negative effects of right-to-work legislation. That's what Minority Leader Patrick Bauer, D-South Bend, said this year's Democratic walkout is about, giving Hoosier's a chance to learn about the bad impact of right-to-work.

It's as if the last year hasn't ever happened. It's as if the 2010 election didn't really take place. Nobody knows the anguish involved for Democrats if union members get control of their own dues by simply refusing to participate and withhold them if they choose. They want to stop the General Assembly again to educate us.

They know their story. They wore it out while nearly wrecking last year's session while hiding out in Illinois.

Truth is, we think, Hoosiers have made up their mind about the legislation, as have their elected representatives. All we get from Democrats are more desperate delays. Let's move on and make Indiana a more prosperous state by passing right-to-work.

House Speaker Brian Bosma now has the power to start fining disappearing Democrats $1,000 a day if they don't show up to do the job people elected them to do. Let the fining begin.

The legislation is quickly moving through the Senate and will take effect once passed by the House as early as March 14. The Senate Pensions and Labor Committee on Friday voted 6-4 to send the bill to the full Senate.

This vote is about power and freedom - worker versus union power. All should have the right to decide their own workplace future, which includes remaining outside the union if they choose.

End the farce.
