JEFFERSONVILLE — Property owned by River Ridge Commerce Center continues to turn over as it is seeking to sell parcels to interested companies.

The River Ridge Development Authority unanimously voted to negotiate the sale of about 21 acres of property off of Paul Garrett Avenue at its monthly meeting Monday.

The confidential industrial company would pay $60,000 per acre, or a total of $1.2 million, in hopes of building a 300,000 square-foot building with expansion capabilities.

This sale follows the board’s agreement to negotiate selling another 27 acres during a special meeting Aug. 27.

The property located just behind River Ridge’s office building next to Ind. 62 would sell for $48,000 an acre, or $1.3 million, to an industrial or commercial prospect. The company, also confidential, wants to buy the land to build a 100,000 square-foot building with expansion capabilities of up to $75,000 square feet.

The board has unanimously voted on four proposals of similar nature this year, totaling 97 acres that companies have sought to purchase. That doesn’t include the 50 acres that America Place bought in February.

Paul Wheatley, finance and marketing director, said that it takes about 120 to 190 days for a company to close on a deal once the board votes in favor.
