INDIANAPOLIS -- The presidents of Purdue and Indiana universities have persuaded one state chamber to get behind their proposed landmark research partnership.

Getting the other side of the Indiana General Assembly on board likely will take a lot more work.

On Tuesday, the Indiana House Democrats proposed a one-year state budget that includes $35 million for the Indiana Innovation Alliance.
